Sunset on Second

The Cheshire moon grins from its perch above the rusted sunset,
The patina of a long day layering in shades of turquoise and copper -
Like a pipe that's lost it's battle with pressure, a penny that's changed hands too many times,
or that old ring that I love but always turns my finger green -
Pleasantly mocking and serenely sinister with teeth bared above the fading bruise of twilight.

Yours? Beautiful. Especially like lines three and four, the penny and the ring.

Lovely! Sounds true and idyllic...we don't get that many *rusted sunsets* over here! Mostly grey and miserble at the mo'! :O)

Thanks! It was a truly unusual conglomeration of colors that evening. It's gone straight from ridiculously mild winter to summer - complete with afternoon thunderstorms. Weird.
