Old Folks Say the Darndest Things

So, I'm spending this month in the company of an orthopedist - he's really great to work with, very interesting fellow. Anyway, in the clinic we were seeing a demented little elderly lady who resides in an assisted living facility. She fell recently, breaking her shoulder in the process. We finished up her recheck (arm's healing well) and the orthopod stated that he'd see her again in 2 weeks. As we left the exam room she told her companions "That's a long time to stay here." XD

A bit literal, but then at that age the people around them tend to get that way, so they in turn sometimes take them at their word.

The things we can look forward to.

Too true. My mama always says "If your lucky, you'll live to be that age someday..." Not entirely convinced of the luck of that, but the principle's the same.

She was so calm, too, about the prospect of hanging out in that exam room for 2 weeks. Bless her!

I think that's a perfectly reasonable assumption...
