Earth turns slowly

My home has become host to a bunch of fireflies over the last couple of weeks.   I manage to catch a couple each evening to release back into the wild, but at least a half dozen hang out too close to the ceiling for me to catch. I don't know where they go during the day, but every evening they congregate in the living room.  They'll meander across the room in their lazy fashion and slowly blink. Occasionally they hover low enough for me to scoop them out of the air and carry them to the back door.  I've always enjoyed catching lightening bugs, but usually I have to go in search of them rather than have them come to me. Last night when I went to bed they seemed to become more active, lighting up the house. One followed me to my room. It was kind of magical to have little living night-lights floating around.

They are definitely the kinder, gentler representative of insect-kind. ;-)
