What doesn't kill you makes you stranger...

Holidays are the perfect time to dust off the family dysfunctions, rehash childhood traumas, and revisit old insecurities. Isn't it odd that you are obligated to spend these days off with individuals who just so happened to crawl out of the same gene pool?

Sorry for the cynicism. It's not that bad, really, and has more to do me than them. There's so much to be thankful for - including the fact that the holidays only come once a year. ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh, dear. In Merrie England, there's another month to go before our one big family-obligatory holiday. I do hope my two boys don't feel like this about it :-( Though I have had to extract a promise to be civil to each other for the *whole* day.

Here Thanksgiving ushers in the holiday season, rife with obligatory get-togethers of all varieties - friends, family, coworkers, etcetera, etcetera, ad nauseum - that lasts until New Years.

It's not that bad, really. I'm just tired. :-P For me, it's the extended family and all the associated baggage that's such a drag. My immediate family is a different story.

I hope y'all have a good holiday, and your boys get along all day! ;-)
