What dreams may come...

I often have very vivid and very strange dreams. Many of them involve getting someplace - there's lots of travel involved, and usually some element of urgency due to either a deadline or a persuer. Others include an element of escape or rescue or searching, lots of searching. Usually I awaken with only a vague recollection of the objectives, but very clear visual imagery of the places and people I encountered. The last couple of nights were no exception, except for the fact that the bizarreness factor got cranked up to 11.

Night before last I recall that I was traveling through some Wonderland/Oz type weirdness trying to help somebody get somewhere with something. The weird part was when I was loitering by a misty pond with some giant water lilies and some kind of sparkly sentient beings when I got swallowed by a hippopotamus. I very clearly remember trying to regulate my breathing while inside a hippo's GI tract. I still can see the innards of that beast, partially digested plant matter, the backside of those peg-like teeth. I was regurgitated elsewhere, but somehow ended up back at the pond. Even though I knew the hippo was coming I was powerless to escape being swallowed again.  So I did the Jonah thing again, and moved on.  It was so strange, and what's stranger is how clear it is in my memory!

Then last night I was put on trial after being accused of running over an old man while intoxicated. I was falsely accused, obviously, but got a death sentence.  Apparently I also had a child, so I had to make arrangements for his care after my execution and I was writing farewell letters to my family and friends when I woke up. I had such a sense of disquiet, and then I got mad 'cause surely I deserve an appeal!! My subconscious evidently has no concept of due process.  I'm not sure I want to read too much into either dream...suppose it confirms what I already knew about myself.  I'm a bit odd.

Wow! They are seriously weird! I have adventure dreams like James Bond type things and I know I thorougly enjoy the adventues but can never remember them after about a millisecond of waking!

I usually end up with just a vague idea of what was going on. I'm thinking that may be a good thing! ;-)

{{HUGS}} Whoa. Those are the kind of dreams that will leave you unsettled for a while. ::sprinkles magic dream-eraser dust around you:: I had a weird fever-dream one time in which I was at an English vicarage during the Battle of Britain, in the middle of an air raid! Yeah, that one stayed with *me* for a while too. ::shudder:: Here's hoping you have restful, non-weird-dream sleep tonight! :)

It is weird. The next night I was a werewolf hiding out with my pack mates (2 other chicks) supporting ourselves by selling crafts at festivals and fairs in between dodging hunters... I don't even know where this stuff comes from! :-P I'm gonna catch up on sleep this weekend, I think. *hugs back* :-)
