An Auspicious Date

For the last few years we've had dates like this - the month, day, and year represented by the same digits. I realized today that this'll be the last one for a while. I don't have anything profound to say about it other than the fact that it makes me acutely aware of how quickly time is passing. The end of the year always makes me a bit introspective...

...and having a dang cold makes me whiny and pitiful.  I'm a terrible patient.

Embrace the doctor as a lousy patient stereotype!

Heehee! Unfortunately in my case it's too true.

But wasn't the world supposed to end...or is it still the 12th where you are...or should it be the 21st? I'm easily confused.

The answer to your cold is Vick's Vapour Rub...do you have it over there? Before you go to bed rub it onto the soles of your feet and then wear a warm pair of socks...helps you breathe and sleep more easily...why the feet? Who knows? (Probably some kind of reflexology kind of thing!) It works...

The world's supposed to end on the 21st, which so happens to be my birthday. I find that coincidence to be appropriate, actually. :-P

We do have vapor rub! I should get some. My grandmother kept a tub of it next to her bed. Of course, my other grandmother kept a bottle of peppermint schnapps next to her bed for the same purpose... Maybe I should try that too! ;-)

Thanks, dear! Unfortunately, I work in germ central - dang snot-nosed kids! So cute 'til they sneeze in your face. It's like they're stealth biological weapons - disease wrapped up in adorableness... Or maybe that's the NyQuil talking...;-)

{{Warm, gentle, cold-fighting HUGS}} Hey, hon! I hope you're feeling better by now. Colds are just nasty, ugh, and somehow they can leave you feeling wrung out in ways that even worse viruses don't manage. I hope you were able to shake yours off quickly and that you're already hitting your stride again. :) Rest up, okay? Have you seen the Star Trek teaser trailer yet? I'm caught between flailing and squeeing.

Aww, thanks bb! Unfortunately, cold and flu season in a primary care clinic means ¡germ fest! and lingering URIs. But I've really got nothing to complain about. :-)

I have seen the trailer and I share your squee/flail feelings! Can't wait 'til May! I'm hoping and praying that you'll be feelin' up to going on opening day! :-) take good care, darlin'. <3 *hugs*
