The weather outside....

It's beginning to look a lot like....winter. At least the southern version thereof. Monday night the rain turned into sleet which turned into ice. It wasn't too bad where I was. It's was actually weirdly soothing to go to sleep to the sound of tiny marbles on the roof.  By mid morning Tuesday the ice was melting off the power lines and trees. When I went home for lunch (one of the perks of small town life, btw), it sounded like glass breaking all over the neighborhood as the ice cracked and dropped off in pieces. Today the sun was shining brightly again, but everything was coated in a thick layer of frost. It's not quite as white as snow - sort of a muted dove grey, but every blade of grass and tree branch sparkle in the morning light. It's kinda magical. I don't mind my frozen fingers and runny nose when the wintry landscape is so lovely.

That's funny, we're both posting on the weather, but I am too cold to admire it! I was always a wimp about the heat and now I'm a wimp about the cold too.

i admire your positive take on the cold weather. i'm too busy muttering (complaining) to myself and throwing on multiple layers to enjoy it much. brb, moving to a warmer place forever.

Well, I'll admit I appreciate the novelty when the weather first shifts, but come late January I'll be ready for it to be over! Thankfully winters aren't generally very harsh in these parts. I do like the opportunity to wear my sweaters and scarves and bundle up. :-) Stay warm, bb!
